Take time to set expectations right!

Missed expectations are the cause of many missed deliverables. How often have you been disappointed by how one of your employees executed ?  it is not their fault -  it is on you!  It starts with regular communications with your employee, but goes way beyond that.  Make sure expectations are crystal clear - what are the actions, deadlines and outcome you expect? Make sure you and your employee recap for clarification.  Leave nothing unclear or unspoken.

Schedule regular updates and ask open - ended questions.  Set update agendas that are in line with the missive you established at the outset.  In this way you will see early which actions are tracking and which aren't.

Good communication.  Good feedback. Do that and you are halfway to success.
