Reflections

My friend Essa sent a tweet the other day. It was a blurry picture of a reflection in a mirror and he wrote " the year end is all about reflections." I love that. Reflections of the past do so much to shape our thinking and ambitions today, be it in our private lives or at work, leading our teams.

Reflections, the perceptions we have, we make, are a function of many things. First and foremost, they are driven by perceptions of ourselves - The " filters" through which we see the world, experience life.

If we look at life, and when we reflect, based on negative filters, that is one choice. Or we can be centered in the present, understand our controllables, and reflect in that context.

When we lead our teams, when we are with family and friends, how we act and reflect ourselves, is a function of how we internalize our experiences . And that is a choice we have!

Reflections are a mirror of reality but in the context of how we choose to see that reality.

We can choose to see today's reflections through filters that we choose to control. Whether it is how we see our past, or how we see the world around us now, it is the outcome of the choices we make - starting with how we see ourselves ... Now!
